One of my favourite dishes in the world is roast chicken. Even though it is relatively easy to prepare it takes a delicate touch any fine and in order to produce the best product possible. When you do it properly a roast chicken will have crispy skin on the outside and the meat should be falling off of them the bone. There’s nothing better than cutting into a freshly prepared chicken and seeing all of the delicious juice is running out. Whenever I prepare my roast chicken I always take the time to make sure that it comes out totally delicious so that my entire family can enjoy it to the fullest.
The first step in making the perfect first chicken is to get a fresh bird from your local grocery shop. You can also get good deals if you decide to go with your local butcher who can probably hook you up with a perfect chicken that will do the job nicely. The great thing about chicken is that it is relatively inexpensive an inch you never have to spend as much as you would if you are going to prepare roast beef or even a pork loin. After you have purchased your chicken you will need to add flavour and there are many options in this department.
I always prefer to make my own marinade and although I won’t give you my special recipe there are many options for you to explore. There are so many things that go well with chicken and it won’t be hard to come up with your own special blend of sauce. Various types of ingredients you can use include onions, garlic, honey, butter, ginger, lemons, apples, and of course salt and pepper. These are just some of the most basic ingredients that you can combined together to form a great marinade and there are plenty of other options as well. You can even put together a few prepared sauces to form your own flavourful combination.
The most important part about roasting the chicken itself is having faith in your oven and letting it do its job. Once you have preheated your oven to the appropriate temperature place your bird inside and don’t take it out until it is done. A lot of people like to open up their oven door to see what’s going on but that lets all of the valuable heat escape. There is really no need to open the door all since you probably won’t be basting your chicken, although that would be the only logical reason to do so. Once your chicken is done take it out and let rest for about 20 minutes while you prepare your dinner table. Letting it sit will allow the juices to redistribute and ensure that every part of your roast chicken is moist and delicious.
